About Lovechild Boudoir

Step into to the Boudoir!

Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of Lovechild Boudoir!

As a little girl my grandma taught me how to bead and embroider ( in between making fabulous Victorian bustle dresses and faux leopard coats for my dolls!) and I grew up in a house full of wonderful fabrics, lace, buttons and ribbons, with my grandma leaning over the dining room table, pins sticking out of her pursed lips as she cut out her fantastic designs using a pattern that only existed in her head. Somewhere, somehow, something must have rubbed off on me!!

I have been designing and customising vintage clothes for over twenty years now, and in that time I have worked for Blue Rinse in Leeds and have had my designs sold in Top Shop and Urban Outfitters plus many other boutiques up and down the country and in Europe.

However, there came a time for me to go it alone and set up my own business where I had total freedom to create my own inspirational designs and this is how Lovechild Boudoir was born in November 2005.

Eco- Conscious & Enviromentally friendly!!

I believe that in this present consumer society with so much "throw away" fashion it is important to recycle as much as possible. Many of my pieces are re-designed from pre-loved garments and up-cycled trimmings for all you eco-conscious divas out there who know that green is the new black!

All my designs are hand made in Yorkshire, either by myself or one of my dedicated local machinists and are not mass produced in a sweat shop overseas. Please rest assured that no small children or cute furry animals have been harmed in the manufacture of my beautiful garments!

Most of my fabric and trimmings are sourced locally in Yorkshire.
